Role Summary

The Order Picker / Packer will be responsible for accurately picking, packing, labelling and preparing customer orders for dispatch, within required timeframes and to Logistics ABS's quality and safety standards. Working with RF scanners and warehouse systems, this role ensures every order is complete, correctly packed and ready for our drivers, supporting our commitment to safety, punctuality and care of customer freight.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick orders accurately from pick locations using RF scanners, pick lists or voice-picking systems, in line with required productivity and accuracy targets.
• Pack, wrap, label and palletise orders securely, using appropriate packaging to prevent damage in transit.
• Check picked items against orders for correct product, quantity and condition before dispatch.
• Prepare shipping documents, labels and consignment details accurately and place orders in the correct dispatch areas.
• Replenish pick faces and move stock between locations as directed.
• Assist with receiving and unloading inbound freight, and with loading outbound vehicles.
• Safely operate pallet jacks, order pickers and other equipment, and, where licensed, forklifts.
• Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods and shortages promptly, and assist with cycle counts and stocktakes.
• Handle returns, rework and special-handling orders as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized and hazard-free work area, including clear aisles and exits.
• Follow safe manual handling practices and company procedures at all times.
• Report all incidents, near misses and hazards immediately.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) policies, including PPE, fit-for-work, and drug and alcohol requirements.
• Step in to support other warehouse or depot tasks as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in order picking, packing or a similar warehouse role (training provided for the right candidate).
• Experience using RF scanners, voice picking or warehouse management systems is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail, with good numeracy and literacy for accurate picking and labelling.
• Ability to work safely and consistently at pace, meeting daily productivity and dispatch deadlines.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive manual handling tasks, including lifting regularly, safely.
• Good communication, teamwork and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including early starts, afternoons, weekends and public holidays, and overtime when required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• A genuine commitment to safety, accuracy and delivering excellent service to our customers.

Experience

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in order picking, packing or a similar warehouse role (training provided for the right candidate).

• Competitive salary of AUD $60,000–$75,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills, qualifications and relevant experience. The salary package is negotiable for highly experienced and exceptional candidates.
